Quick Update 10/9/2021

I’ve been quiet on the site and all of the other platforms because I’ve been going through a job change. My new position deals heavily with marketing, so I went ahead and started a brand-new account on Facebook. It still tears me up inside thinking that all of those photos and memories that I posted on Facebook over the years have been lost forever. Especially the ones that involved my son, Josh, who passed away in April.

I understand that there were some special circumstances which involved a hacker, etc., etc., but I still don’t think I will ever be able to forget about the way that Facebook treated me. I’m back on the platform because of my job and because it is a convenient way to stay “in the know” with friends, family, and the community, but I am definitely not loving it. There was a time when I was a passionate believer in Facebook, but now it is just an application I’ll probably use until something better comes along.

The funny thing is that Facebook doesn’t feel the same that it once did. Maybe it’s me, or maybe it’s just that my account hasn’t followed enough people, or maybe Facebook really has gone downhill.

I hope to continue this website as a resource for others who are struggling with their access on Facebook. Judging from recent events, it seems that things might get worse. I’m going to be here, documenting what I can and helping people.

  1. I was a victim of the isis flag/inappropriate image FB hack yesterday. I don’t know for sure what they posted but the FB bots won’t allow me to take back my account. Like you I have lost 15 years of memories and links to accounts of people passed away. It’s mind boggling that they wouldn’t want to offer a recourse to innocent people like us. Don’t they want our scrolling and ad clicks?
